Let's play a little game! It's called, "How do I procrastinate during NaNoWriMo?" :D

So far today, I've cleaned the living room, taken down some halloween decorations, put a new bumpersticker on my car (courtesy of CafePress and Angry Writer), checked the email a million times, read my friends list, and checked the mail.

And I'm behind. By the end of today, I should have between 3000-3200 words....I, at the moment, have 1372. However, Jo an Mitch, i believe, are about to have a nice little fight about his work schedule and her unemployment, so we'll see how far that gets me.....~cackles~

Oh, yeah, and this year's novel, which I just named Club Affair (and naming novel 2 gave me the name for novel 1, being Print Affair) continues the adventures started in novel 1 with Joline Manning, unemployed secretary (though Joline would like to add that she wildly prefers administrative assistant and that's the term I use in the book so why can't I use it here?) and Joseph MItchell, homicide detective.

...and that was 172 words I could have put into my novel, lol!

New here... [21 Sep 2005|08:17pm]

[ mood | weird ]

New here. What's with me and joining communities lately? O___o Pfft.

Anyway, never been part of a My Little Pony fan-fic sort of group before. Should be an interesting experience, even if this one seems slightly inactive. (Am I wrong there? Oo)

So I don't really write much outside AIM RPing. So...this'll be interesting. XD

Reading fiction you wrote when you were 14 really makes you wonder: "What the hell was I THINKING?! D:" I'm just glad that it's on paper and I can't let any of you see it no matter HOW MUCH you beg. X3

So neglected! ;;

I never post here either, I know. >>

Anyway, I'm back with another odd story. No death this time, I promise. This was inspired, in part, by our own lilblueunicorn's dog-society story (you get credit even, Sparky!). Again, it stars the tennis team from my last post here, only this time, they're not tennis players...

They're cats.

No Japanese words to worry about here, save in the title. Neko, as I'm sure some of you know, means cat. The suffix -tachi can be added on to certain nouns to pluralize them. So "neko-tachi" simply means "cats."

Linked, as always, to my fic journal...follow the fake cut.

( Neko-tachi - The Stone Wall Clan )

If you read it, I hope you enjoy it. ^^

Mini-rant. [22 May 2005|07:04pm]

I know it looks more professional, but...

I really hate spelling out numbers when I'm writing. >_< It looks weird to me. And maybe that's just because I'm a LJ/message board/IM/ICQ person, but it does. When I write "18 hours" I want it to look just like that, "18 hours", but to make it up to manuscript standards, I have to spell it out "eighteen" and that just looks... so... DAMNED OLD FASHIONED!

I know, I know, it's a pointless complaint, but there are some conventions to fiction that I hate. This is one of them.

I have an idea [03 Apr 2005|04:45am]

for a story but there will be a transition in it I am not sure how to make. It starts out with youngsters who dream about growing up. Sorry to be a little vague but i do not want give away the story. How do I go from the youngster talking to one of them having a "daydream" about growing up and make it a smooth transition. Any advice will be helpful. By the way, this will be a my little pony fanfic.

New to the group... [03 Apr 2005|01:41am]

On many MLP boards and groups I am know as Dane, Lady Wishawhirl or (in the LJ communities) undrground4265 so many of you might already partially know me. I do enjoy writing and I have ideas for many different types of stories (some of them are even started) but I have come across a large bought of writer's block.

As for my real life self? I am a nineteen year old female who collects My Little Ponies, Mighty Ducks: the Animated Series figurines, recently have joined in on the Betta addiction, enjoy Anime and Manga, and love to draw.

When I get something written up I will post it and PLEASE help me! Hopefully, I can get over my writer's block being here.

Haven't posted here in a while... [09 Mar 2005|02:46pm]

I just submitted some stuff to the Cal Literary Arts Magazine, of which I am assistant editor... it'll be interesting to go to the meeting today and have to suck up the inevitable harsh criticism. : P

Anyway, this is something I wrote in highschool and revised a bit to submit yesterday. For those on my friends' list, you can read more submissions in my personal journal. : )

Huh. [18 Feb 2005|08:28pm]

[ mood | curious ]

Tell me, why is it always more fun (for me, at least) to write from the POV of things that don't normally have a POV?

Like, for instance, right now, I'm doing a story from the POV of a dead girl for my writing class.

Anybody here do that?

Ever written a story from one character's POV and thought it was okay, then gone back, looked at it, and realized that it would be so much more effective if it was written from someone else's POV???

Auuuuuuuuugh! >_<

[ mood | nervous ]

Well...I don't contribute to this community very often. Mind you, I also don't write very often. >> But I thought I might share this with you guys.

It is, as my usual wont, anime fanfiction...and though it does contain descriptions of light shonen-ai (boys' love...you know...homosexuality), there is no mention of anything remotely sexual (that's part of the reason I never post here...most of my stories are graphic sex. *cough*). However, I hope that it can, for the most part, stand on its own and be enjoyed (I'm hoping) by people who are not fans of this anime, or even of anime in particular.

I will, however, give some background: the fandom is Prince of Tennis/Tennis no Oujisama, and focuses on one of the jr. high tennis teams from that anime: Rikkai Dai Fuzoku. At the time both the manga and anime take place, team captain Yukimura Seiichi (last name first) is suffering from Guillian-Barre Syndrome , an inflammatory disorder of the peripheral nerves that causes paralysis. His vice-captain, Sanada Genichirou, takes over the running of the team in his absence. Note: the only Japanese word used in the story is "fukubuchou", which means (essentially) vice-captain. ^^

The team can be seen in my icon *points*...Yukimura is first with the blue hair (on the letter O) with Sanada following him. Then in order: Kirihara Akaya, Yanagi Renji, Yagyuu Hiroshi, Niou Masaharu, Jackal Kuwahara, and Marui Bunta. I'm sure many of you know all this already having seen me fangirl in my journal. ^^

I've always been of the mind that Rikkai is more like a family, with Yukimura and Sanada as mommy and daddy respectively, and the others all their children.

Ummmm, I think that's all I should say. I could babble about Rikkai forever, but you know... yeah. >> I'm not quite sure why I'm posting this...I guess, I failed at NaNo, so I wanted to prove that yes, I am a writer...lol.

One last warning that probably won't be of much concern to you guys but I feel I should include anyway: the story does contain character death.

The story is linked to my fic journal...please to follow the fake LJ cut.

( Wings )

If you do read it, I hope you enjoy it. ._.

#>_<# I am NOT CRAZY! I swear! [06 Dec 2004|03:07am]

[ mood | dorky ]

When planning out stories I often write dialogue in my head. 'Writing' this dialogue includes sometimes saying certain things aloud, like, certain phrases, to myself, while I'm walking down the hall or something. Everybody else here is used to it, so they don't question me because they usually know it's to be used later (I did my explaining LONG ago. ;) but sometimes, I slip, and the people that don't live here get to witness my crazy antics.

Case in point: I just trotted into the kitchen muttering "You little..." and didn't know that my evil aunt was sitting at the table. All of a sudden I hear:

Evil Aunt: *ahem*

Me: O_O "Crap."

Evil Aunt: ^_^ *big-ass smile* "Ha ha, you're crazy. I knew it."

Me: -_-;;;; Eh-HEH. >_>;;; *trots out*

That... was embarassing.

Anybody else ever had an embarassing author moment? ^_^;;;;;;;;;;;;;

hmm..fiddling with outlines.. [03 Dec 2004|12:37pm]
I don't think I will have L'angelo being rescued from the arena-place, but directly from the lab,it would be just as horrific a place.I can use the "being stolen for arena use" later. I just like that idea of a human point of view of being stuck in the position animals often get in through no choice of their own.

I remember how irritated I get with George Lucas often killing off interesting creatures in his movies--it always seems the niftiest exotic creatures are the "bad guy" or the thing that's there just to get killed off, or be stupid...(the Reek, the Acklay, the Orray, The Nexxu, the Wampa, the Colo Claw fish and the lobstery-looking thing, the poor ol' TaunTaun...and the Eopie farts on JarJar. It was a cool creature until they lowered themselves to that)I SO wanted the Reek to get out alive in the Clone Wars arena scene, since it helped Anakin and the others to a semi-safe position.(oh, wait, the Sando Aqua monster did do a helpful thing by eating some of the other sea creatures that were chasing the sub)
But, in retrospect, Chewie kicks ass,& is honorable and good, so i shouldn't gripe TOO much.
If you haven't studied the Star Wars movies and have no idea what I am talking about, I fully understand.

LOL...I do remember Steve telling me once that Lucas wasn't much of an animal person.Ah, I'm sure I'm making a big deal outta nuttin'...can't have everything your way, Liz, calm down...

Just muttering and tinkering.

(crossposted to regular journal) I will be asking odd questions like these.. [03 Dec 2004|11:54am]
For ideas with my story.Remember it's science-fictiony, in the future.Or perhaps a long time a go in a galaxy far, far away,LOL..

I also like turning things over with you guys, I like to see how you think.

Let's say all of us LJ peeps here were part of a real-life community somewhere,a small town, a little self-sufficient community/colony on a distant, peaceful planet (sounds pretty good, now I think about it).The whole colony is humans, just plain old run-of-the-mill humans.

And a guy comes to live in the colony who sure, has been through hell, but has a big ol' whupass talon for a right hand, and maybe a few other wires crossed in his mental & physical makeup---who knows? He's the victim of some freaked-out vivisection.

When I say a talon, I mean, well, picture your hand 3 times its normal size, covered in black, shiny scales, and each nail is now a sickle-shaped claw almost ten inches long.

He's a nice guy,supposedly... he needs to get a fresh start. His name is Nelson L'Angelo. He's mostly just called L'angelo, with the L being silent.

But what would your reaction be when you hear the news?

WHat would you think when you saw him, if you wish to explore that far?

Dear Muses:

You're the one who wanted this scene, and I am obliging you greatly by writing it. Now will you do me a favor and talk the majority of the way through it?! I can only do so much, and if you aren't talking (even when we both know exactly what happens) it kind've ruins the whole thing for me.

So, please talk, please???

Thank you.
